Since January 2024, I have been learning Swedish lessons with my Tutor Eva Malmbom, who I regard as an excellent teacher. Now I am at beginner level -3. Eva has a good sense of humor which makes learning fun. She is patient and incredibly approachable.Her politeness, understanding and being supportive have made all the difference in this language lesson. I extend my deepest gratitude for her invaluable guidance and support for my learning.I could not have asked anymore. Eva is fantastic !

I grew up in Sweden, but live in the UK since 2005. 

After working in symphony orchestras for many years, I changed direction and trained as a language teacher, and now mainly teach Swedish, but also English as a second language. As both music and words are important means for human communication, I'm passionate about language and how we convey and understand meaning. 

The process of learning is also fascinating, and I very much enjoy being part of the learners' exploration of a new language and culture. I tailor my lessons to the learners' needs and wishes - sometimes we conjugate verbs, sometimes we write wedding speeches, and quite often we see the amusing side of linguistic and cultural quirks (such as the word for 'married' and 'poison' being the same in Swedish). 

The goal is to stretch and increase the learners skills while building confidence and having a nice time, as in my experience, learning is much more effective when enjoyable

Eva's an absolutely outstanding teacher and I'm so grateful to her. Maybe the most important thing she's enabled for me is an enjoyable learning approach which encourages me to continue learning. This has been entirely through her endeavour, her enthusiasm, willingness and support. She goes above and beyond to help her students, and I know that everyone will say the same. I'm now conjugating verbs (before I started, I didn't know what conjugate meant!). She's created a great atmosphere in our group where we feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes. We're an online class which I initially thought wouldn't work as well as being in a classroom, but actually I prefer it. In terms of the lessons themselves, Eva provides a great balance between structure and laid-back conversation/discussion. The lessons flow and really pass by quickly (I promise I mean that as a positive!). All I can say is thank you, Eva.
